It’s by far the best meal of the day and I’ve pretty much just spent my morning and afternoon in a cute café next to the Leeds-Liverpool canal doing exactly this.
My friends and I have reached the time in our lives when we no longer have breakfast or lunch but we brunch (basically, we are getting old).
It sounds so bourgeois but in fact, it’s cheaper than paying for both breakfast and lunch… So combine them both and you get the best of both worlds. You can choose how healthy or unhealthy you want to be thanks to the range of sweet and savoury food on offer, all of which can be soaked down by a cup of coffee or fruit juice. I am a little bit of a coffee snob when I’m paying for it in a coffee shop. There is so much competition between cafés these days that the good news is they generally sell good quality coffee. Plus, pretty much every café has joined in with the brunchin’ hype and offer a range of different foods from cakes, fruit, croissants, eggs, sausage, bacon or paninis.
What’s more, brunch is at a much more convenient time of the day unlike the early hours of breakfast time… So if you are not a morning person like myself, you are in a much more sociable mood to have a good catch up with old friends.
So here is some brunch inspiration for all you crazy brunchers!
Every now and again when I’m home, I like to make brunch for my family on a sunday morning so if any of you have any cool recipes, please send away!
Also, exciting news, I’m moving to Quebec in less than 2 weeks. So if anyone can recommend some good cafes to have brunch in, that would be a bonus!
